iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and Introduction to Styling - 10 days: £1850

The qualification is designed for Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a selections of cat breeds, understand health and safety in a cat grooming salon and gain an understanding of heath checking, handling and feline behaviour. The course is delivered over a minimum of 10 days practical training with 2 days theory work, there will be additional theory to be completed at home.

iPET Network have developed this NEW qualification in the canine and feline sector. Over the period of 10 days, Candidates will groom at least 8 cats to include a minimum of 3 different breeds, covering 3 different coat types.  There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level course first.

Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on a selection of cat breeds.

324: Health and Safety in a Cat Grooming Environment 

325: Promote the Welfare of Cats conforming with Relevant Legislation

327: Assess and Plan Cat Grooming Styles and Maintenance of Equipment

334: Feline Welfare and Health Checking

333: Prepare, Style and Finish a Selection of Cat Breeds

Uniquely, candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit an formal exam in order to achieve the qualification. iPET Network and Four Paws have designed the qualification to have an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning. The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and Introduction to Styling will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that Candidates understand the core principles of Cat Grooming and have been introduced to styling techniques.  Candidates will leave with a foundation of knowledge base to continue learning or working in the Cat Grooming Industry.

It has been designed specifically for those looking to start the journey in Cat Grooming or those who already groom cats (as a hobby) but would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification. 

The units and evidence completed as part of the iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and Introduction to Styling can be recognised as prior learning should a Candidate want to progress and complete the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming and Salon Management qualification. The Candidate would need to complete an additional minimum 15 days at a Training Provider and complete the following additional units.

332: Feline Emergency First Aid

fast-track option is also available for experienced groomers seeking a formal qualification to confirm their skill level or those who have undertaken other qualifications but see the benefit in gaining the iPET Network qualification.
