What we do
Four Paws Groom School believes in giving people the skills to care for all animals correctly, ensuring their welfare is maintained during any activity undertaken including dog (and cat!) grooming. These skills are adaptable across the animal care and veterinary science industry and allow our students to excel in any spere with a strong foundation. For example, previous students have gone on to become award winning dog groomers, judges, TV personalities, run their own businesses, gain employment in top companies, upskill to high level professions and even create their own product ranges. They each started with a passion for pets which lead them to finding a training school that shared their ethos. We are proud at Four Paws Groom School to have supported over a thousand people start a new career in dog grooming.
Our Schools
Our training schools are designed to be welcoming for people and pets. We want everyone to be at ease as we know learning is most productive when you are comfortable, and animals benefit from a relaxed environment too. Although our schools are usually set up for dog grooming courses, they are multifunctional spaces which enable us to deliver a range of qualifications and quickly transform to classrooms or meeting space. But what really makes our schools unique is your friendly tutor who is dedicated to your success. Your tutor will guide you through every step of your course, answering any questions you may have and sharing their knowledge and experience.
We provide valuable hands-on skills practice throughout your time at our schools which is vital for all practical based qualifications such as dog grooming. All of the dogs that you groom during your course are grooming models; they have all gone through checks to ensure they are happy to be groomed by students under our supervision and guidance but they are not robots and real dogs means real experience.
Throughout your dog grooming training course we aim to give you hands-on experience of one or two dogs each day (with assistance from your tutor when required). This means you get the most from your course as you are learning the correct styling techniques from start to finish of the groom and how one part effects the next, for example, drying and coat and then styling it.
Four Paws Groom School are known as educators for the whole of animal care sector, not just dog grooming. As such, we deliver courses in person and online, making them accessible to those not near a school. For online / remote learning qualifications your tutor will always be available to support you throughout your learning journey. Whichever qualification or course you choose to complete, with Four Paws Groom School our experienced tutors will help you achieve your goals.

Fern Gresty one of the Directors here launched Four Paws Groom School after failing to employ a dog groomer who matched her expectations. Working with other professional’s, she went on to design courses that ensured we deliver dog grooming training to the highest standard and that they kept evolving as practices and techniques updated. Sarah Mackay joined Four Paws Groom School in 2015. Her creativity and focus on quality teaching led to her becoming joint owner and fellow Director starting the perfect partnership. Together, Fern and Sarah hope to inspire all their students into following their dreams to work with animals whilst raising industry standards.
Herefordshire
As the number of dogs requiring grooming continues to grow, the UK desperately needs more qualified, skilled pet groomers. Over the past 7 years Belinda has bought her knowledge of working in small independent and corporate salons to teach dog grooming in colleges and private training facilities, helping others to achieve their goals, while continuing her own learning and development.
