About this course
In the UK, dog grooming is not currently a regulated profession. However, there has been a positive shift in the sector and the industry is making a move to self-regulation with calls for qualification to form part of future reform. As such, to be recognised as a ‘fully qualified dog groomer’, groomers are encouraged to gain an Ofqual regulated level 3 diploma in dog grooming. At Four Paws Groom School, we know many experienced groomers would like to be able to say they are fully qualified and have had their skill validated to meet the professional standard required. Sometimes time pressures, logistics, costs and low confidence can be barriers to achieving but with the fast track route for experienced groomers these barriers are removed making the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management accessible for all groomers.
Course Breakdown
To achieve the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management qualification, learners must complete the following:
- Theory workbook via our e-portfolio system
- 3 practical grooming assessments either in one of our schools or in your own salon via video link
- An in-person first aid training day at one of our schools
- 10 grooming diaries and a grooming log which evidences that you have groomed 20 dogs covering 10 breeds and 6 coat types.
We pride ourselves on providing a great opportunity for experienced groomers to achieve Level 3 qualification status without the need for first completing a Level 2 qualification, saving time and money. This route is ideal for any experienced groomer without qualification but also for those who hold the City and Guilds Intro Certificate but who have not yet been awarded the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma. iPET Network and City and Guilds diplomas are the same value on the national framework but simply awarded by different awarding organisations. More can be read about comparing different Awarding Organisations and Qualification in our blog.
Successful completion of this qualification entitles you to join The Groomers Spotlight and proudly demonstrate your achievement.

I have just completed my fast track level 3 in dog grooming and salon management. I was able to complete my units in my spare time around a busy salon and mum duties.

I decided last year to go for the Level 3 Diploma Fast Track with Four Paws. Cannot recommend them highly enough. In May this year I had to go to Northwhich to complete first aid course which was superb. Everyone so helpful and Four Paws had self catering accommodation. This year completed the Certificate in Canine Oral Health. Fantastic course for anyone who is serious about oral health. Very informative with good explanations of canine dental disease and what to look for, also when not to clean teeth and seek veterinary help. Four Paws are excellent

I recently completed my Diploma on a Fast Track Course. I can’t recommend Four Paws highly enough, I learned so much and had a fantastic time. Everyone is really friendly and the standard of the training is great. Because I have been grooming for a little while I was initially worried that I would feel uncomfortable asking questions that I felt I should know the answer to but Sarah made me feel so comfortable and never made me feel silly for not knowing things. Thank you so much Four Paws 🐾
